WE HAVE OVERCOME. This is a 9-part message series on the authority of the believer in Christ.
A Christian is a winner. He is not cursed. All ancestral curses are removed in Christ Jesus.
Here we see the operations of Devil. He does not have power like people often think he has. He cannot just decide to kill or to destroy. He seeks these things but power must be given to him from God the Judge before he can do anything.
The schemes of the devil are as follows:
1. Deceive
2. He tempts. This is his major activity. He tends to go to the area of people's weaknesses.
3. He accuses. After people might have fallen into sin because of his temptations, he begins to accuse them before God.
4. He steals
In the activities of the devil, temptation is the major issue. A Christian cannot be cursed unless he by himself walks into sin and refuses to confess. This is why Satan works hard at temptation.
Almost all the problems in the life of a Christian is a reflection of emptiness in the word of God in the life. Ignorance is what leads to perishing, and not ancestral curses.
There are 3 sources of 'problems' in the life of the believer:
1. Ignorance. 2. Disobedience 3. The trial of faith.
Life has never been easy; it is a matter of fact that the devil and the forces of life try to ensure that we do not step into our inheritance. It is not a sign of a special curse that a believer has challenges. We must refuse to push away our responsibilities to imaginary enemies; we must rather do what is necessary to overcome. We have been set free and free indeed.
